Getting Things Done

Capital investments in our community from this term of Council through 2029 will exceed $350 million. They include the combined Fire / Police and 911 Dispatch Centre, the committed Recreation Centre, a new Elementary school in Waterdown, the major upgrades to Waterdown Road, and many other road and infrastructure improvements. This is more investment in Ward 15 than the cumulative capital investments of the last 20 years.

Fought City Hall's double digit tax increase proposals by passing the first motion of its kind in Hamilton to cap a property tax increase.

Fought to maintain Area Rating in Ward 15, saving residential taxpayers on average more than $400 on their annual property tax bill.

Championed the construction of the brand new Clear Skies Park and Waterdown Woods Park, as well as upgrades and retrofits of the playgrounds at Gatesbury Park and Margaret St. Park, and inspired a new park accessibility protocol for all of Hamilton.

Stopped all Stormwater Fee consideration until 2028. I won't support an unfair rain tax that hurts rural residents and farmers.

Created a Rural Roads Maintenance Task Force which produced a 315-page report outlining recommendations for change and created a digital dashboard for residents to report and monitor issues.

Listened to the community and coordinated multiple city departments to introduce traffic calming measures like speed limit reductions, speed cushions, crosswalks, electronic speed displays, and new 4-way stops to make our roads and communities safer to live and play in.

Strong Supporter of agricultural producers in our community, as well as the Waterdown Farmers' Market, (operated by the Waterdown BIA).

Advocated for the Provincial creation of an Ontario Food Belt to support agricultural economies and preserve prime agricultural lands.

Strongly advocated for Habitat4Humanity, the Hamilton Alliance for Tiny Shelters (HATS), Interval House (domestic gender violence crisis support), local housing projects, community mental health issues, mentoring of tomorrow's leaders, and a national Basic Income program.

Active Member of Hamilton's Agriculture & Rural Advisory Committee; the Hamilton Library Board, and the Waterdown BIA.

Formed a Community Council of engaged citizens and service providers. Direct, non-tax community funding for 34 local groups totaling over $400,000, including the Waterdown Museum of Hope, the Flamborough Women's Resource Centre, The Flamborough Foodbank, supports for migrant workers, the Waterdown Legion, and the Flamborough Santa Claus Parade.

When people tell you what they want to do, be sure to ask them to show you what they've done.
